Tuija Toivanen widmet sich seit 2002 der Ostasiatischen Tuschkunst

und hat sich dafür in Asien und Europa weitergebildet. Sie malt und schreibt auf Papier, manchmal auch auf Holz, mit selbst geriebener Tusche. Die Gummi- und Holzdrucke entstehen mit Tusche und Pigmente.

Sie macht Skizzen in Schweizer Bergen, Finnische Wälder sowie während Segeltouren auf Ostsee und erstellt die endgültige Werke in ihr Atelier.

Tuija Toivanen stammt aus Kotka (Finnland), verbrachte längere Zeit in Ungarn und lebte 1997–2018 in der Schweiz. Sie arbeitet als Konservatorin-Restauratorin in einem Museum, unterrichtet Tuschmalerei und gibt Workshops. 

Seit Sommer 2018 arbeitet und lebt sie wieder in Finnland, Helsinki aber unterrichtet weiterhin Ostasiatische Tuschkunst 2-3 Mal pro Jahr in der Schweiz: Volkshochschule Zürich, VHSZH und Bildschule Frauenfeld .

Tuija Toivanen  is practicing and studying the Ink Brush Painting from Asian and European teachers since 2002. She paints and writes calligrafie on the Asian painting paper (Gasenshi, Xuan) and rub the Ink by herself. Next to the traditional Asian motives she makes sketches on her walking-tours in the Swiss mountains, Finnish forests and on the sailing tours on the Baltic sea - and puts her impressions  at her studio on the paper.

Tuija Toivanen was born in Kotka (Finland) and grew up in Kouvola. She studied and worked several years in Hungary before taking up residence in Switzerland for 1997–2018.

She is employed as a conservator at one museum and and gives classes in Ink Brush Painting and organises workshops. 

Since summer 2018 she lives and works again in Finland, Helsinki and teaches Ink Brush Painting 2-3 times a year in Switzerland: Zürich & Frauenfeld.
